MTB Seatpost – Adjusting Your Saddle Height

The MTB seatpost is part of what is known as the "MTB peripherals", along with the stem, the saddle and the handlebars. The seatpost attaches at the exit of the frame's seat tube (also called the vertical tube) via a seatpost clamp and serves as a support for the saddle. It allows you to extend the seat tube of your bike to the desired distance in order to set the saddle at the appropriate height. The saddle is attached to the seatpost via rails located beneath the saddle shell, which slot into the seatpost cradle situated at the top of the seatpost.

MTB Seatpost – Adjust Your Position!

The MTB seatpost allows you to install the saddle but also to fine-tune your riding position. It enables you to adjust your saddle height according to your leg length, as well as your saddle setback (by sliding the saddle rails backwards or forwards on the cradle and by choosing a straight or more or less set-back seatpost) and finally to adjust the tilt of your saddle (roughly parallel to the ground, tilted upwards at the front or at the rear).
