Even though they are becoming increasingly rare in MTBthere are still a few bikes out there, notably leisure bikes with V-brake brakes brakes.
Standards
When choosing your MTB brake padsyou need to take into account :
- Bracket types: classic or cartridge
- Rubber qualities and materials
Types of V-Brake pads
The assembly standard between the skid and theV-brake caliper brake caliper (not to be confused with the Cantilever system).
You can choose between classic or cartridge. The latter consists of a metal support in which just the rubber is housed. All you have to do is replace the rubber when it wears out, without having to readjust the entire pad, as is the case with conventional models.
Depending on the brand, you'll find different rubber qualities depending on weather conditions and your expectations in terms of performance or durability.
