Brake assembly is fairly straightforward, but adjusting your brakes so that the pads don't touch the rim is a little more complex. Here's how.

Steps
If you have a disc system, please consult How to adjust your ATV disc brakes as the operations are quite similar.
After checking that the caliper is visually centered on the frame,
- Adjust the position of the pads so that they are centered on the braking surface of the wheel. rim but slightly pinched towards the front.
- Now center the brake pads on either side of the rim. rim using the centering screw on the caliper.
- Adjust the cable tension so that there is about 2 mm clearance between the brake pads and the rim.
Probikeshop tip: make sure the caliper opening lever is closed during this step. - Tighten the caliper bolts to the torque specified by the manufacturer, using a torque wrench.
The brake is now adjusted. It's advisable to check the adjustment and tightening after a few brake applications.
