Standard

  • The diameter of the MTB handlebars
  • Mounting system: classic or Lock-On
  • Grip thickness

Grip types

The mounting diameter is standardized. Since they are installed at the end of the handlebars, they all have an inside diameter of 22.2 mm.

As far as the mounting system is concerned, you can find the model classic A system, where the grip is fitted directly onto the handlebars; and the Lock-On B system, which is a rigid plastic body onto which the grip is molded, complete with one or two clamps. The Lock-On system makes grips easy to fit and remove

The range of grips is expanding, with new models featuring thickness are now available to adapt to the morphology of each rider's hands.

Which grips to choose?

If you're looking for ease of installation, you'll need to opt for Lock-On models. Different materials (foam, rubber, Kraton, silicone) and patterns (herringbone, diamond, smooth) determine comfort, grip and vibration absorption.
