How to choose the right size for your road bike?

Choosing the right frame size for your road bike is essential, as it determines both your comfort and your performance. There are several ways to determine the size of your bike, the most reliable of which is to base it on your inseam height

  • Time : 5 min
  • Level : Easy
  • Tools : A tape measure | A notebook

Steps

  1. Take a tape measure and a thin, rigid support, such as a notebook.

  2. Barefoot, place your backs against a wall, heels together and 5 cm apart.

  3. Place the rigid support between your thighs, making sure it's horizontal and in contact with your perineum.

  4. Measure the distance between the floor and the top of your rigid support. This will give you your inseam measurement.

  5. Refer to the diagram below to find your bike size. Probikeshop tip: depending on the road bike brand, not all sizes are available. In this case, take the size that's closest to your size. If you're between 2 sizes, refine your choice with your size (value A in the diagram).
