FELT - the story

Since its creation in 1991, FELT has established itself as one of the leading brands in the bicycle industry. Its origins can be traced back to a close relationship between star motocross racer Johnny O'Mara and his mechanic Jim Felt. Apart from motorcycling, the two friends shared another passion: triathlon. One day, Johnny asks Jim to build him a time trial bike. Jim set about the task, concentrating on optimizing the rider's aerodynamic position. The effects were immediate: Johnny won several races with this bike. Soon, the world's best triathletes were calling on Jim Felt's services. The ultimate recognition came in 1991, when triathlon legend Paula Newby-Fraser won the Kona IronMan on one of these little gems. Jim officially founded his company, FELT, and for the next ten years the brand continued to score victories, before deciding in the early 2000s to apply its know-how to other disciplines. Since then, the success has never waned.

The brand was founded in California, a land of pioneers, entrepreneurs, technology and outdoor enthusiasts. Felt's philosophy is in the same vein. From the outset, the company has been driven by a strong desire to offer the most innovative, high-performance bikes without ever taking the easy way out. This spirit endures, and FELT accompanies the greatest athletes with the same determination: Daniela Ryf (four-time IronMan world champion), the US track cycling team and Nicola Rohrbach (Mountain Bike World Cup and Cape Epic).
