How to fit mountain bike brake discs?

Fitting a MTB disc is a simple operation, but requires a special tool.
Here's how.

  • Time : 15 min
  • Level : Easy
  • Tools : 25 Torx wrench (for 6-hole discs) | Torque wrench | Cassette wrench (for Center-Lock discs)

steps

  1. Place the disc on the mountain bike wheel wheel, respecting the direction of rotation indicated.
  2. Tighten the 6 bolts (with a T25 torx wrench) or the Center-Lock nut (with a cassette wrench) to the torque specified by the manufacturer, depending on the model you have.
Probikeshop tip: it's advisable not to grease the disc bolts, to avoid getting any on the brake track during use.

Your disc is now mounted. After running in, it's time to check the tightening. You are now ready to ride with your MOUNTAIN BIKE.
