How to mount mountain bike handlebars?

Quite simple to do on your MOUNTAIN BIKEHere are the steps to follow.

  • Tools : Allen key set | Torque wrench | Anti-seize grease (for carbon models)

Steps

  1. Undo the screws on the MTB stem.
  2. Place the MTB handlebars in the stem.
    Probikeshop tip: if the handlebars or stem are made of carbon, we recommend using anti-seize grease on the contact between these two parts to reduce the torque required and thus avoid damaging them.
  3. Start tightening the stem bolts evenly.
    Probikeshop tip Make sure the stem cap remains parallel to the stem when tightening.
  4. Tighten stem bolts crosswise.
    Probikeshop tip: make sure you use the tightening torque specified by the manufacturer, especially for carbon handlebars, otherwise you risk crushing the handlebars.

Your handlebars are now installed. All that's left is to fit the other components (brake levers and mountain bike shifters) and adjust your position. After your first outing, check your handlebars for tightness.
