  5. Remove the fork cone and refit it on the new fork. Probikeshop tip: be careful not to damage the bottom of your fork during this operation.

  6. Make an initial "blank" assembly of the new fork and cockpit to trace the cut line of the pivot (Cylindrical element of the fork that connects it to the frame and to which the stem is attached)..

  7. Dismantle the assembly again, then cut the pivot 3 mm below the line, then deburr the cut.
Probikeshop tip: after cutting the steerer tube, lift the fork so that the steerer tube is facing downwards, to remove the filings without getting them on the plungers and seals.

  8. Fit the fork pivot star.
Probikeshop tip: be careful not to damage the bottom of your fork during this operation.

  9. Clean and grease the headset before installing the fork, as well as the cockpit, brake caliper and wheel.

  10. Finish by centering the brake caliper and adjusting the headset.

Your fork assembly is now complete. Remember to lubricate the plungers regularly to keep them running smoothly and preserve your equipment.
