GARMIN VARIA RADAR RCT 715 rear light

This GARMIN Varia Radar RCT 715 rear light and camera is a must-have solution for improving cyclist safety, making you visible in all circumstances, day and night, and informing you of the arrival of a vehicle behind you from a distance of 140 meters (up to 8 vehicles at the same time)! When a vehicle is detected, the beacon lights up to signal your presence.

On this new model, a latest-generation camera is integrated to record movements. Incidents are automatically detected, and videos before, during and after the event are stored. The device can capture images in 1080p or 720p to extend battery life. Recording can also be started manually via an Edge meter or the Varia application. Access to these videos is very simple thanks to this application. The included 16GB SD card provides ample storage capacity.

This accessory is equally at home on a city/hiking bike or a road bike, and is easily installed on the seatpost using the supplied mounting kit.

The design of the waterproof housing has been reworked to blend in even better with the aesthetics of road bikes. The indicator light is now visible at 220°, and the system can still be used in continuous mode (4 hours autonomy) or flashing mode (6 hours autonomy). By day, the cyclist can be seen up to 1600 meters away, thanks to a light output of 60 lumens in flashing mode.

In addition to the audible alert, this system works perfectly with a GPS Edge or Wahoo Element, Bolt and ROAM, which will give you a visual warning of what's coming up behind you. It's also compatible with Android and IOS smartphones via the Varia Mobile App. Finally, the Radar also works with the smartphone apps Komoot, RidewithGPS and others to come. In addition to the audible alert, approaching vehicles are indicated by a color code (Green = clear, Orange= approaching vehicle, Red= vehicle approaching at high speed).
