Your new road bike has just been delivered and you can't wait to see how it performs on your favourite routes? Here is a video to help you complete the assembly yourself.
- Time: 1h30
- Level: Easy
- Tools: Wire cutters | Allen key set | Torque wrench | Grease (and specific assembly paste for carbon frames)
Steps
- Unpack the bike then cut the packaging ties, taking care not to damage the paintwork and hoses.
- Grease the inside of the seat tube, then fit the saddle/seatpost assembly into the frame.
Probikeshop tip: on a carbon frame, use assembly paste rather than grease for this step.
- Fit the front wheel after greasing the axle first.
- Fit the cockpit onto the stem.
- Grease the thread of the pedal axles then fit them, making sure to observe the correct fitting direction for each one.
Probikeshop tip: After one or two rides, your bike will "settle in" — check all fastenings to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
Your bike is now assembled. All that remains is to adjust your riding position.
