The TOPEAK E-Xplorer TrunkBox battery box is much more than just a carrier bag; it's a high-performance carrying case designed to house a spare VAE battery. No more worrying about an empty gauge on epic mountain rides or electrified bikepacking trips.
Made from expanded polypropylene (EPP), it offers exceptional thermal insulation and superior shock absorption to protect sensitive electronic components from vibration and extreme temperatures. Its MTX QuickTrack® 2.0 attachment system lets you clip it on and off your Topeak carrier in a fraction of a second, with perfect stability even on rough terrain.
Does it make the bike unstable with the weight of the battery? The MTX 2.0 system locks the box as close as possible to the rack's center of gravity. Although you'll be carrying an extra 3 to 4 kg, the rigidity of the TrunkBox avoids the tossing and turning of conventional soft saddlebags.
Is it compatible with all luggage racks? The TrunkBox requires an MTX QuickTrack® 2.0 -compatible Topeak carrier (such as the TetraRack M2 or Uni Super Tourist series). It is not compatible with other brands' mounting systems without an adapter.
Can it be used indoors without a battery? Absolutely. Thanks to its shock-absorbing properties, it's an excellent rigid storage case for transporting fragile equipment (camera, drone).
