"I installed an 11-40 cassette to replace a Shimano 11-36, using these Shimano 36-24 chainrings instead of the 36-22 set, a new Shimano chain, and new pulleys. a few adjustments to give the derailleur a bit more clearance on the hanger with cable tension, and it was good to go. Gear changes were a bit "noisier" at first but without any creaking during the initial setup; after fine-tuning, everything is working perfectly now. . . smooth shifting both when shifting up and down. Already about 200 km in mud and water, on wet and cold sandy terrain (Fontainebleau), on rolling terrain, on rough, rocky terrain. . . no problem. Of course, a good cleaning and lubrication between rides to preserve the gear a bit... . . . we’ll see over time if it’s as durable as the original Shimano cassette. I recommend this product."
