The Wolf Tooth MKØ Centerlock external nut is designed for demanding cyclists looking for a high-end alternative to standard models. Part of the new MKØ range, this nut benefits from extremely rigorous CNC machining in Wolf Tooth's Minneapolis workshop.

Unlike internally splined versions, which can be limited by the diameter of certain wheel axles, this externally splined model offers universal compatibility, even for hubs with 12 mm, 15 mm and even 20 mm through axles. It ensures powerful, even clamping of your Centerlock disc for quiet, safe braking.

Why choose an external spline nut? Some hubs with large axles (particularly on mountain bikes or modern road forks) don't leave enough room to insert the clamping tool inside the nut. The external spline nut is tightened from the outside, eliminating any space problems.

Is it compatible with all disc brands? Yes, it's compatible with all Centerlock-standard discs (Shimano, SRAM, Hope, Magura, etc.).

What tools do I need to install it? It's installed with the same tool used for external bottom brackets (Shimano BB52 or similar). It's a very common tool that provides an excellent grip for applying the 40 Nm torque without slipping.

Is it lighter than the original Shimano nut? Yes, the use of 7075-T6 aluminum saves a few grams, while providing a much more attractive, corrosion-resistant part.
