The SHIMANO Ultegra Di2 R8170 2x12-speed groupset revolutionises gear shifting for road cyclists, guaranteeing smooth and effortless performance. Thanks to Di2 technology, every gear change is instant and precise, even in the most demanding conditions. The compact and ergonomic gear lever allows optimal control in all circumstances, offering increased comfort and perfect mastery, regardless of riding position.

The system offers a considerable advantage by preserving the cyclist's energy, allowing them to focus on the enjoyment of the ride and the required effort without worrying about drivetrain failures. Gear changes are made automatically via a switch, eliminating the lever travel required by mechanical systems. This feature is particularly useful for adjusting gears according to varying road conditions.

Shimano D-FLY bridges the gap between component technologies and Di2 software. D-Fly enables connectivity between Di2 systems and ANT+/Bluetooth® LE compatible accessories such as computers/GPS units and lights. It also offers a wireless connection with Shimano's E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app for smartphones, enabling customisation of the gear lever configuration, searching for firmware updates and troubleshooting component faults.

The sub-1:1 ratio of the SHIMANO Ultegra 12-speed drivetrain makes it possible to tackle more ambitious climbs whilst better managing effort. The synchronised front derailleur ensures consistent pedalling and smooth gear changes, while the E-TUBE PROJECT app allows personalised adjustment. "Très bon groupe, mais pas de surprise à ce niveau. Mon regret : aucune boîte, aucune notice. Apparemment c'est souvent le cas mais ça pourrait au moins être stipulé. Dommage ! Je regrette aussi que les plaquettes ne soient pas les modèles avec ailettes ventilées intégrées que j'ai toujours eues sur Ultegra. Pas un gros problème, mais c'est dommage. Bref, un peu plus de clarté dans le descriptif serait un plus. Ça explique l'étoile en moins, pas liée au groupe lui-même."
