The brake set SHIMANO XT M8220 Enduro 4-piston is designed to meet the most extreme demands of enduro and technical mountain riding. Equipped with the BL-M8200 alloy lever, it combines power, precision and comfort thanks to an evolved ergonomics, a new pivot point and optimised reach adjustment, enabling a natural finger placement for optimal control.

The redesigned SERVO WAVE system improves the power curve throughout the lever stroke, ensuring progressive and balanced braking. Combined with low-viscosity SHIMANO mineral oil, it guarantees consistent performance even in extreme heat or during prolonged descents. The brake remains stable and responsive, offering total control in the most committed sections.

The BR-M8220 4-piston calliper is the most powerful in the XT range. Built in two pieces with heat-resistant resin pistons, it ensures effective heat dissipation. The new pads reduce vibrations and noise, for silent and smooth braking.

Finally, the clean hose routing, improved seals and compatibility with downhill components make the M8220 a versatile, reliable and powerful enduro brake, suited to the most demanding terrain.

Problème sans solution

"J'ai malheureusement mis du temps à faire monter ces freins. Le frein arrière est une catastrophe, ça couine, ça ne bloque, sensation de plaquettes et/ou disque pollués. Alors que les plaquettes fournies dans le kit et mes disques sont neufs. Passés par 3 professionnels, Giant le Havre, Decathlon et Le Cycle Vertueux, qui se dernier à démonté entièrement l'étrier et le levier, en vain, problème persistant. L'on sait de l'air entre dans le circuit, l'étanchéité de l'étrier étant testée, je rachète un levier. C'est mieux mais très loin d'être optimal en comparaison du frein avant."
