MAVIC COMETE 55 Tubeless Ready Rear Wheel (Center Lock)

The MAVIC COMETE 55 Rear Wheel is designed to combine aerodynamic efficiency, responsiveness and low weight. Its 55 mm profile offers a balance between speed and versatility, engineered for fast and rolling terrain. It is part of the Mavic 45/55 combination, designed particularly for courses where changes of pace and significant elevation gains demand a dynamic wheel.

Its Aero Wide Rim features an internal width of 25 mm and an external width of 34 mm. It is optimised for 30 mm tyres to promote smooth airflow between tyre and rim. This design aims to reduce drag and enhance aerodynamic efficiency, particularly in crosswinds.

The Adaptive Layup technology uses various carbon fibres, including T700, T1000 and 3K. This construction seeks a balance between stiffness, weight and vibration absorption. The 21 aerodynamic carbon spokes contribute to lateral stiffness and direct power transfer.

The aluminium rear hub incorporates Mavic Ceramic bearings and the ID360 40T system. Its 40-tooth freewheel mechanism ensures near-instant engagement, while the hub design aims to minimise mechanical losses.

The wheel is hand-built and inspected in the Mavic laboratory. The Locked-In Spoke Heads system helps maintain long-lasting spoke tension. It accommodates tubeless, tubeless ready and inner tube tyres.
