Developed and tested in collaboration with Greg Minnaar, the MAXXIS Assegai 27.5x2.60" 3C tyre Maxx Terra Exo takes its name from a spear of the Zulu people of South Africa. It is therefore the perfect weapon to tackle the mountains.
It features tall knobs providing excellent traction and good support on dry and wet, rooty or rocky terrain. The 3C Maxx Grip compound combines three different rubber compounds: one is hard for the base of the knobs to ensure good rigidity during deformation and maintain overall precision; the second is soft for the centre knobs to optimise their deformation during braking, pedalling and obstacle clearance; and the last is very soft for the side knobs in order to provide maximum grip in corners.
In this Tubeless Ready version, which can be mounted with or without an inner tube, this tyre also features an Exo casing on the sidewalls, providing enhanced protection against abrasion and cuts.
