Description
The Maxxis DTH tyre — standing for Drop The Hammer — is a BMX Race classic, originally developed for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and still a benchmark on fast tracks and hardpack terrain.
Its tread design is based on a grooved slick tread: smooth in the centre to maintain speed on straights and pedalling sections, with pronounced side knobs that deliver grip as soon as you lean into turns. The dual-compound rubber (Dual Compound) enhances this balance, combining centre durability with shoulder grip.
This 20x1.50" wire bead version is the narrowest in the range for 406 setups. At 387 g with a reduced width, it prioritises pure speed and low rolling resistance: an ideal choice for Race use on fast tracks, or for a leaner rear setup. 120 TPI casing with EXO sidewall protection, maximum pressure 110 PSI. Fits 406 rims (standard 20-inch).
