Muc off Chain Wax Cleaner is a new-generation cleaner designed by the transmission experts at Muc-Off. Its role is crucial: it removes stubborn factory oils, heavy grease and old wax residues that conventional degreasers sometimes find hard to dissolve.

For a wax (hot or liquid) to adhere perfectly to metal, the surface must be clinically clean. This cleaner leaves a "zero residue" surface, ensuring that your new coat of Dark Energy wax penetrates to the heart of the links for maximum fluidity and longevity.

Why not use the classic "yellow" Muc-Off degreaser? While the classic degreaser is excellent, Chain Wax Cleaner is specifically formulated to leave absolutely no residue. The slightest trace of oil would prevent the wax from bonding properly to the metal, halving its effectiveness.

Do I need to rinse after use? Yes, absolutely. After spraying and scrubbing with a brush, rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all traces of product and dirt, then dry the chain thoroughly before applying the wax.

Is it necessary for a new chain? It's mandatory! New chains leave the factory with a sticky storage grease. To switch to the wax system, you need to remove this layer with Chain Wax Cleaner.
