The Ortlieb QLS Mounting Kit (reference E235) is the official mounting kit for installing the Quick-Lock S (QLS) quick-release fixing system on your bike's fork. It is specifically designed to accommodate the fork bags from the Fork-Pack and Fork-Pack Plus ranges by Ortlieb.
This set is the ideal solution for cyclists wishing to use their fork bags on multiple bikes (for example a gravel bike and an MTB) without having to remove the mounting plate each time they switch. Ultra-complete, this kit installs easily on all rigid forks, whether they have factory-threaded eyelets (2 or 3 holes) or are completely smooth, thanks to the supplied metal adapter straps.
What does this mounting kit contain exactly? The kit includes 1 Quick-Lock S adapter plate, the fixing screws for threaded eyelets, 2 flexible metal straps for mounting on smooth forks without eyelets, as well as heat-shrink protective sleeves to protect your fork's paintwork.
Can this bracket be fitted to a telescopic suspension fork? No. Ortlieb advises against mounting the QLS system on telescopic suspension forks (unless the fork has factory eyelets provided by the manufacturer on the lower leg). Clamping via metal straps on the moving stanchions of a suspension fork should be avoided.
Is it necessary to have 3 eyelets on the fork to install the bracket? No, 2 threaded eyelets are more than sufficient. The QLS plate features multiple bolt hole spacings to adapt to the majority of standard spacings on the market.
