KOM CYCLING Rear Rack Radar Mount

The Radar Mount for Rear Rack KOM Cycling Bike Rack Radar Mount is a technical mount designed for cycle tourers, commuters and bikepacking enthusiasts. When you load the rear of your bike with panniers, a basket or a bulky rack bag, your seat post and seat rails become completely hidden. Mounting your radar or rear light in that position then blocks the sensors and cancels all safety detection.

This mount definitively solves this problem by relocating the attachment of your device directly onto the rear plate of your rack (typically designed for reflectors or fixed lights). Made from a lightweight and robust composite, it screws firmly onto the standard holes of your rack and provides the essential quarter-turn interface to clip your radar in perfect alignment with the road.

Is it compatible with the large Garmin Varia RCT715 radar-camera? Yes, the mount uses the standard quarter-turn footprint. However, since the RCT715 model is heavier and longer than a standard Varia due to its integrated camera, make sure the plate of your rack is sufficiently rigid to avoid excessive image vibration, and that there is enough vertical clearance beneath the mount.

Could my travel panniers hide the radar once installed? That is the whole point of this product. By mounting the bracket on the plate at the very rear of the rack, the radar is positioned beyond the area occupied by your panniers. Your belongings remain well protected and your radar retains its 180° field of view to detect vehicles.

Is the hardware included for fitting it to the rack? Yes, KOM Cycling generally provides the necessary mounting hardware (bolts and nuts) to attach the mount to the standard rear dropout of your rack. Installation takes only a few minutes with basic tools.
