Description

The SHIMANO XT M8020 rear brake returns to its origins with a 4-piston caliper, increasing braking power by 20% compared to the 2-piston XT caliper. Versatile, it's equally suited to Cross-Country as well asAll Mountain/Enduro committed.

The sturdy aluminum caliper adds just 30 grams to the previous model. Ceramic pistons ensure formidable efficiency, while the purge system is easy to use. ONE WAY BLEEDING bleeding system with banjo coupling.

The aluminum lever, identical to the previous version, offers an ergonomic "2-finger" design with a tool-free adjustable guard. The new SERVOWAVE technology guarantees a short stroke for almost instantaneous contact with the disc, ensuring excellent responsiveness. This brake combines performance, lightness and reliability to meet the needs of demanding cyclists.

Reviews

the must-have

"As a replacement for the original Shimano Deore on my Scapel, as they say, 'it's a no-brainer'—once the pads are broken in, the performance, feel, and adjustability are all top-notch."

The Shimano Deore brake

"The Shimano Deore XT 4-piston brake is really great. I use it on my DH bike and it works really well."

The Best in Braking

"I bought these brakes to replace my Magura MT5s, which were poorly made and failed after just six months on my AE enduro bike. The braking performance of the M8020s is incredibly precise, and Shimano has never let me down."

So far, so good

"After a few rides, these brakes are working properly. Shimano has kept the ceramic pistons they introduced on the M8000 to fix the issue with the original pistons. Otherwise, they’re good brakes with a very nice feel, though they lack a bit of bite at the beginning of the stroke, and I don’t quite understand how the contact point screw works. I’ll post another review in a few months to confirm my assessment if necessary."
