Description

Designed and developed for Enduro, the SHIMANO XTR M9120 rear brake 4-piston J-Kit (without disc) offers optimum power for the most demanding terrain.

Reduce braking distances with the 4-piston caliper! Notable improvements make it even more efficient: it benefits from a lighter construction (aluminum caliper and master cylinder, aluminum lever, titanium screws), promises better braking power and modulation, and improved heat control (ceramic-insulated piston). It is 8% more rigid than the M9000 model, even at high temperatures. What's more, the lever has a new ergonomic design for quicker return to action. Last but not least, I-Spec EV clamping technology frees up space on the handlebar !

ATTENTION: This brake is supplied in a J-KIT for Junction-Kit (simplified assembly): The principle of the J-Kit system is to facilitate the passage of the brake hose inside the frame (for frames with internal hose/cable routing). The hose is connected to the caliper, but not to the lever, to facilitate installation and easily determine its correct length. These brakes are nonetheless very simple to fit.

Installation of J-Kit brakes:
- Position your brake lever on the handlebar of the bike
- Mount your brake caliper on the fork and/or frame
- Route the brake hose through the internal passage in your frame (if your bike is so equipped).
- Remove the black rubber plug from the end of the hose
- Remove the yellow end caps from the brake levers.
- Slide the black rubber nut cover over the hose
- Do not remove the small white cap from the end of the hose.
- Insert brake hose into lever nut
- Keeping the hose at the bottom of the lever nut, tighten the nut to compress the olive inside the lever. There's no need to overtighten, as the nut thread should remain visible, and is then masked by the nut cover you slid over the hose earlier.
- Now you can operate the brake to finalize its installation.

PM = Postmount
IS = International Standard Mounting
If the spacing between the two caliper mounting bolts (on frame or fork) is 74mm, this corresponds to a PM mounting. If the spacing is 51mm, it's an IS mounting.
