The Selle Shotgun Pro is the ultimate child seat for mountain biking. Unlike previous models, the Pro version has "zero contact" with the frame: it attaches directly to your headset and seatpost. It's the perfect solution for high-end carbon frames or electric mountain bikes (VTTAE) with massive downtubes.
Thanks to its integral adjustment (leg width, length, saddle tilt), it offers perfect ergonomics for the child without ever getting in the way of the rider. Installation is the quickest in the range: once the spacers are installed on your bikes, you can switch from one to the other in less than 30 seconds. Why choose the Pro version over the 2.0? For two reasons: if you have a very thin carbon frame that you don't want to tighten, or if you have a VTTAE with a very wide downtube. The Pro version is also much quicker to transfer from one bike to another.
Is it compatible with my telescopic seatpost (Dropper Post)? Yes, absolutely. The rear clamp clamps onto the fixed part (the body) or the top of the seatpost, without interfering with the up/down mechanism.
Does this change the way the bike is steered? As the weight is perfectly centered and the saddle does not touch the frame, the rigidity of your mountain bike is preserved. It's the system that offers the riding sensations closest to a solo outing.
Do I need to change any parts on my bike? You simply need to replace a 10 mm spacer under your stem with the Shotgun spacer supplied. It's a simple, one-time operation.
