Description

The RITCHEY WCS Carbon Matrix C220 6° stem is a high-end model offering an excellent value for money thanks to the combination of carbon and aluminium.

The stem body is made from 7075 aluminium with a carbon exoskeleton, increasing stiffness by 12% compared to a standard C220 model.

This stem benefits from C220 technology, with a 220° clamping zone around the handlebar, allowing even distribution of stress on the relevant parts. The weight-to-stiffness ratio is broadly identical to that of C260 technology, but with the advantage of front-loading assembly and disassembly, just like a standard stem.

"Stem mounted on my Origine bike when I bought it. It's a beautiful product, with an impeccable finish. I was able to compare two of these stems in 100 mm and 80 mm with competing products. To be honest, I didn't see any obvious difference in behavior. The weight difference with an aluminum stem didn't make any difference either (about ten grams gain in the best case). It's a complex technology for a result no different from that of a stem three times cheaper. Except to the eye, where the plus is obvious, especially when matched with the brand's carbon aero handlebars."
