The WOLF TOOTH MKØ ALT (for Alternative)pedal is the flagship model of Wolf Tooth’s 2026 XC lineup. Unlike the DEL (single-sided) version, the ALT features double-sided engagement, which is essential for XC mountain biking where clipping in must be instantaneous during intense effort.

Thanks to the use of DLC-coated titanium axles and an extremely precision-machined 6061-T6 aluminum body, these pedals weigh an incredible 218 g per pair. They offer a contact area of 505 mm², ensuring optimal power transfer and eliminating the “floating” sensation often criticized in minimalist XC pedals.

Why choose the ALT over the DEL? The DEL (single-sided) is lighter and more aerodynamic, perfect for gravel riding. The ALT is designed for XC mountain biking: the double-sided design allows you to clip back in without looking at the pedal, which is crucial on technical climbs or after putting a foot down.

Are the pedals resistant to impacts from rocks? Although lightweight, they’re made from sturdy materials (stainless steel for the clip mechanism). However, like all “Mark Zero” titanium gear, they require a bit more care than a heavy steel model.

Does the DLC coating on the axle wear out? DLC is one of the hardest coatings in the world. It protects the axle from abrasion caused by debris and extends the life of the bearings by maintaining a perfectly smooth surface.
