The WTB Byway TCS Light Fast Rolling tire is one of the most versatile models offered by the WTB brand, for use both on the road and on difficult off-road trails. This wide Gravel tire is available in 650b or 700c sizes, and features TCS Tubeless technology for tubeless mounting. TCS Light tires feature a single-ply carcass.
Particularly comfortable on roads and trails, this high-volume Road Plus tire enables smooth passage over difficult terrain, while maintaining efficient traction and performance. It uses a Dual Compound DNA Rubber compound that distinguishes a hard rubber on the tread and a softer one on the sidewalls, to promote grip.
This WTB Byway tire features a smooth tread and progressively textured sides, with diamond-shaped pimples and true side studs, offering excellent cornering grip. Fast Rolling tires feature a fast, effective central compound combined with a softer, but still effective, compound for the side studs. Fast Rolling tires are all about speed and efficiency.

"I'm on my 6th tire, which is saying a lot. We often hear that they are of poor quality, well personally, I haven't had a single disappointment since I've fitted this type of tire. Rolling on the road, pleasant (no central studs), good grip on the sidewalls. Perfect for light gravel on dry terrain (south of France). As for assembly, I'm amazed. If you moisten the rim base with soapy water, it's a delight. No loss of pressure with Mariposa liquid. What's more, it's light. I understand that some people are disappointed, but having taken 6, they're not as bad as all that (12,000km and only one puncture). I do about 6000km with one set. There you have it, I'm doing my bit to improve the image of this tire, which suits me perfectly and for which I can find no fault, for my riding of course (forest tracks, rough secondary roads)."
"Bought for gravel use, I was intrigued by the dual-action aspect. And indeed, it's a tire that rolls well on dry ground and grips well on greasy terrain, with a nice little brown stripe. But at what price? I was never able to give it a straight line on mounting, the tire was deformed on arrival, and tubeless use is barely conceivable. What's more, the rolling strip in the center of the tire is in fact barely 1mm thick, with no reinforcement. any gravel or vaguely pointed piece of wood can pass through it. 3 punctures on the first 70km outing. I insisted on putting an anti-puncture tape on it myself, but about 200km later, the whole tire failed, with big cracks and tears in the sidewalls. In short, enough to put me off WTB for life".
"Beautiful and powerful... . Light and sleek... . But at the price of great fragility, so if you're lucky you'll make 3000 km. ... If you're unlucky, 50 km. ... . Take wicks with you on your outings".
"Rolls well in dry conditions, not so good in wet conditions".
