The WTB Byway TCS Light Fast Rolling Dual DNA SG2 Tubeless Ready Souple tire is one of the most versatile models offered by the WTB brand, with a view to use on the road and on difficult off-road tracks.

The WTB Byway tire features a smooth tread framed by textured stripes. Diamond-shaped intermediate studs improve traction on difficult terrain. Lateral studs, which are extended on the sidewalls, secure grip when cornering. TCS Light tires feature a single-ply carcass.

This Gravel tire uses TCS tubeless technology for tubeless mounting. Its flexible, lightweight Light casing (120 tpi) incorporates SG2 puncture protection, a flat nylon-fiber insert that wraps the tire from bead to bead. In addition to a lighter, more resistant construction, this SG2 protection also improves the watertightness of tubeless mounting. Dual Compound DNA Rubber features a hard rubber compound on the tread and a softer one on the sidewalls, for enhanced grip. Fast Rolling tires feature a fast, efficient central compound combined with a softer, but still effective, compound for the lateral studs. Fast Rolling tires are all about speed and efficiency.

Perfect for country roads

"Mounted without any difficulty for me. On the rear wheel of my Norco gravel bike, replacing a 40mm tire. 1st outing on a country road this morning. I'm fully satisfied. It's much smoother than the 40mm with studs, while retaining good road grip and comfort. I took a bit of the road and was pleasantly surprised by the grip on dry ground. On the other hand, it shows its limits on downhill gravel. So I recommend this tire for country roads and clean paths. We'll have to wait and see about wear and punctures, but with tubeless tires you're normally pretty well protected. ..."

Difficult to fit, not very resistant to punctures

"I mount this tire with an inner tube. I had a lot of trouble fitting it, it wouldn't sit properly on the rim (tubeless ready). I only manage by using washing-up liquid on the rim walls. After a Gravel outing, I noticed several cuts in the tire, one of which caused a puncture. I therefore have doubts about its resistance. The tire has less than 500km on it."
