The Shot Furious Kid full-face helmet is the youth version of the French brand's entry-level model. One important point to note before ordering: it is ECE 22.06 certified, which means it meets the motorcycle standard, and not the EN 1078 bicycle standard. Many young BMX Race and downhill riders use motorcycle-certified off-road helmets, but it is an informed choice to make — check the requirements of your club or event organiser before a race.
This is not just a scaled-down adult helmet: Shot has designed a specific shell and EPS liner for children, ensuring a more precise fit and, above all, a low weight kept to 1,150 g ± 50 g — 150 g lighter than the adult version. On a child's neck, at the end of a heat, the difference is noticeable.
The SRS shell (Synthetic Reinforced Shell) is paired with a peak mounted on breakaway screws, designed to shear on impact to reduce rotational forces transmitted to the cervical spine. The chin bar features a "Shock-Absorber" insert, ventilation includes 16 vents, and the hypoallergenic fabric interior is removable and washable — essential for a helmet used in back-to-back training sessions.
