On a gravel bike, you can choose between two standards: the 650b wheels, equivalent to 27.5" mountain bike wheels and the 700c wheels.Visit offer greater comfort on uneven terrain thanks to greater tire width and volume. Shorter spokes and closer rim bracing ensure greater robustness. These rims generally allow the fitting of tires with cross-sections of up to 50 or even 55 mm (equivalent to 27.5''x2.10'').
On the other hand 700c rims are more rolling and responsive and therefore preferable for less bumpy roads. They can usually accommodate tires up to 35/40 mm wide.

Rim height
For Gravel, a low-profile rim is preferable for all-purpose use. This means they can be used without fear on brittle, demanding terrain, the more their responsiveness and lightness will be appreciated. Medium-profile rims, on the other hand, offer greater inertia and aerodynamics on less hilly sections.
However, most models on the market have a height of around 25 mm.
